SINC? What's that?

SINC - Schooling in North Columbia - is an inclusive homeschool support group for the Northeast area.   We are not an accountability group though that is a goal for the future school year 2009-2010. There is not a statement of faith or religious affiliation required but many of our members are Christian, which is reflected in our activities.  For the moment there is not a fee though in June of 2009, we will begin membership fees of $10.00 to maintain the website and help fund some of the events.  SINC is structured with a loose frame of small groups based on area with several events thru the year for the entire group.  Members are asked to do one thing for either their small group or the whole.  Beyond that, each member's participation is open.  But the more involved we each are the better the group will become!!

Some of the clubs and annual events we are creating:Boys Club/Girls Club, Art & History Presentation Day, Science Fair, Chess Club, Sinc meet up, MOMs and kids day out, Valentine's Party, Christmas party, co-ops, park days, and an end of the year celebration!

If you have any other events, feel free to post them!  We always welcome new ideas and thoughts

The History behind SINC

Having homeschooled since my 10 year old was tiny, I have had the great experience of being involved in two great homeschool groups, both completely different, both wonderful in their own way.  After moving from Lexington to the Northeast area, I realized that the few groups here were really too far from me to participate in more than every now and then.  I needed, still need, a closer group with regular activities and events. SINC was an idea tossed around between myself and good buddy Kim for a quite awhile.   And here we are now!!  Cool
